Proximus selects Nokia to modernize charging and voice core with cloud-native platform

Belgian telecom operator Proximus has selected Nokia to modernize its online charging system and voice core as part of a broader network transformation strategy. Under the agreement, Proximus will migrate its entire fixed and mobile customer base, along with more than 1,000 products, to Nokia Converged Charging, fully replacing an existing competitor’s charging platform.

The operator will also deploy Nokia’s cloud-native Voice Core, Subscriber Data Management and Policy solutions to boost automation, enable flexible scaling and support new 5G monetization models. All solutions will run on Proximus’ own cloud infrastructure using Red Hat OpenShift.

The modernization is expected to help Proximus move toward more autonomous network operations while opening up new revenue opportunities across emerging services such as IoT, gaming, content and digital advertising.
