MTS brings INNOVATSii for Indians

Telecom service provider MTS (Sistema Shyam TeleServices) today said it would bring INNOVATSii (Innovation in Russian language) – inviting telecom ideas for commercial, social and government segments.

MTS Russia has been organizing INNOVATSii in Russia and CIS countries for the last four years.

The company has invited participation from engineering and management institutions in India including IITs, Regional Engineering Colleges amongst others.

This apart, MTS India is also encouraging its employees and their friends and family to be a part of MTS iNNOVATSii.

Dmitry Shukov, CEO, MTS India, said: “This initiative provides an opportunity for talent in the age group of 18 to 35 to unleash their creativity and author projects which apply telecom technologies in the commercial, social and in the government space.”

Top five teams will be declared as winners and will get an opportunity to showcase their ideas at the India-Russia Youth Summit being planned in New Delhi. The teams will also win an all-expenses paid educational trip to Moscow. The travel itinerary will include interaction with senior executives from MTS Russia and Sistema JSFC, along with a visit to the Innovation Center in the Russian Capital.

MTS iNNOVATSii is inviting projects on three themes – E-Governance, Improving Life Quality (Transport, Security, Housing and Utility Services) and Socially & Educationally relevant projects.  The project is open to all people in the age group of 18- 35 years irrespective of their qualification or profession.

Entries will be accepted both on individual and team basis. A maximum of 4 participants can team up together to design a project.

Evaluation Procedure – The entire process will be covered in 2 phases:

Phase I – Submission and Short listing of top 10 projects

·         The project overview needs to be submitted online.

·         To submit the idea overview, candidates can log on to www.telecomideas.com.

·         All submitted ideas will be screened by a special panel featuring telecom technology experts from India and Russia, representatives from the Russian Embassy, senior Indian bureaucrat, an eminent personality from the corporate world and MTS India CEO.

·         Evaluation and shortlisting of the submitted projects will be done 9th September, 2014.

Phase II – Selection of top 5 winners

·         Top 10 selected teams will present their projects for a final review to the expert panel in New Delhi on 24th September, 2014.

·         From the list, top 5 projects would be declared winners.
