Idea slashes international roaming tariff by 80-95 percent for voice and data

Idea Cellular on Tuesday announced discount of up to 80 percent in voice and nearly 95 percent in data tariffs on international roaming to post-paid subscribers.

The offer is available from 3 December.

Idea Cellular says its two new International Roaming packs priced at Rs 599 and Rs 1,499 will make mobile usage hugely affordable while travelling to 40 most frequently visited countries in the world including UAE, USA, Singapore, UK, Thailand, China, Germany, France, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, Italy, etc.

Sashi Shankar, chief marketing officer, Idea Cellular, said that its international roaming arrangements across 40 frequently visited countries will enable Idea Cellular to users enjoy seamless connectivity at affordable roaming rates, whether on a holiday or business trip, this season.

Idea Cellular’s Rs 599 pack comes with a validity of 10 days and Rs 1,499 pack with 30 days’ validity. Apart from other voice and data benefits, the Rs 1,499 pack also offers 30 minutes of free incoming calls while roaming internationally.

The new packs are applicable while roaming on Idea’s preferred network provider in the respective countries.
