Idea Cellular’s 3G subscriber base reaches 5.1 million, data ARPU Rs 55

Telecom Lead India: Idea Cellular on Thursday said its 3G subscriber base reached 5.1 million in Q4 FY 2013, while data ARPU rose to Rs 55.

The company improved non voice revenue to 15.2 percent from 14.6 percent in Q3 FY 2013 led by mobile data growth.

The Q4FY13 has the highest data adoption by Idea customers’ with 4.5 million sequential quarter addition, as the EoP base of Data users grew to 26.2 million, now contributing 6.6 percent to service revenue.

The data volume expanded by 13.8 percent to 11.4 billion MB (10 billion MB in Q3 FY 2013) and data realized rate improved by 9.5 percent to 33.9p per MB in Q4 FY 2013.

Thanks to 3G and data revenue, Idea Cellular has posted 14.92 percent increase in FY 2013 revenue to Rs 22,457 crore against Rs 19,411 crore in FY 2012.

The Aditya Birla group-owned telecom operator’s net profit rose 39.92 percent to Rs 1010.9 crore in FY 2013 against Rs 7,230 crore in the previous fiscal.

Idea’s main achievement was its 8.6 percent sequential quarterly growth in Q4 FY 2013. In Q3, the sequential growth was 5 percent.

During 2012-13, Idea Cellular’s gross revenue rose 14.8 percent to Rs 22594.9 crore.

Voice Minutes rose 8.5 percent to 143.4 billion on sequential quarterly basis.

Idea serves 121.6 million customers.

Idea Cellular said its consolidated net profit rose to INR 3.1 billion for its fiscal fourth quarter ended March, from INR 2.4 billion a year earlier.
