Telecom Lead Asia: China Mobile will raise capital spending (Capex) to 190.2 billion yuan ($30.6 billion) in 2013 from 127.4 billion yuan a year earlier.
China Mobile’s net profits increased 2.7 percent to 129.4 billion yuan ($20.8 billion), on revenues up 6.1 percent to 560.4 billion yuan.
China Mobile said revenue growth last year was mostly driven by its data business, said China Mobile chairman Xi Guohua.
The number of its subscribers rose by 9.3 percent to 710 million. Some 87.93 million customers joined its 3G network. The net addition was 60.73 million and 36.72 million, respectively, for all customers and 3G customers.
In 2012, China Mobile’s operating revenue rose 6.2 percent to 560.4 billion yuan.
EBITDA rose 1 percent to 253.6 billion yuan, with EBITDA margin reaching 45.3 percent.
China Mobile said voice usage volume reached 4,192.3 billion minutes, up 7.8 percent.
Wireless data traffic business accounted for an increase of 187.6 percent in traffic over last year.
China Mobile’s revenue from wireless data traffic business increased by 53.6 percent over last year, contributing to 12.2 percent of the total operating revenue.
China Mobile said its corporate customer business also experienced significant growth, with the total corporate customer base expanding to 3.46 million.

In terms of network capacity, China Mobile will continue to further promote the Four-Network Coordination and the building up of in
frastructure resource capacity.
The world’s largest telecom operator based on user base will enhance the development capability of the mobile feature service. From the perspective of marketing capabilities, China Mobile will strengthen maintenance of the existing business, drive data traffic operations and excel in corporate customer services, as well as increase terminal sales and related marketing support.
