C Spire appoints Sprint CTO Stephen Bye as chief technology officer

C Spire CTO Stephen Bye
C Spire has appointed Sprint CTO Stephen Bye as chief technology officer effective November 1 – responsible for the network operations of the Mississippi-based telecom operator.

Hu Meena, president and CEO of C Spire, said: “Stephen makes our top management team even stronger and he will be a great cultural fit at C Spire. His technological expertise and leadership will be valuable additions to our company.”

As CTO of Sprint, a SoftBank company, he led a major overhaul and shift in the strategic direction of their network. Sprint was recognized as the most improved national wireless service provider in 2014.

Sprint’s voice and data network KPIs improved significantly. Third-party evaluations showed Sprint’s network performance improved from 4th to 1st overall in a number of major national markets.
