Batelco names Ihab Hinnawi as acting CEO after Alan Whelan steps down

Batelco Group today said its CEO Alan Whelan will step down and Ihab Hinnawi will be appointed as the acting chief executive officer.

Hinnawi is currently the CEO at Batelco’s sister company Umniah.

Batelco did not share specific reasons for the departure of Alan Whelan.

Hinnawi, who has around 20 years of experience, joined Umniah as chief executive officer in 2009. Prior to becoming the CEO of Umniah, Hinnawi was the general manager Enterprise Division at Batelco Bahrain and CEO at Batelco Jordan.
