AT&T expands coverage at Churchill Downs by upgrading DAS

AT&T data plans
US-based telecom operator AT&T has expanded coverage at Churchill Downs by upgrading the Distributed Antenna System (DAS) – targeting visitors at the Kentucky Derby on May 6.

DAS antennas that distribute the AT&T wireless network coverage throughout Churchill Downs manage heavy wireless traffic in the area offering more consistent wireless coverage. Recent upgrades add over 20 percent more LTE capacity to the existing wireless network.

“We’re committed to investing in our networks all across the Commonwealth. These enhancements at Churchill Downs are just one way we’re investing in the Louisville area,” said Hood Harris, president, AT&T Kentucky.

This year marks the fifth year AT&T and Mobilitie have teamed up to improve coverage at Churchill Downs for the Derby.

Christos Karmis, president, Mobilitie, said it builds, owns and currently operates the neutral-host DAS network.
