Airtel taps HPCL to enhance digital payments business in India

Airtel India for mobileAirtel Payments Bank has tapped Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) to enhance its digital payments business in India.

As per the partnership, all 14,000 HPCL fuel stations will act as banking points for Airtel Payments Bank. All Airtel Payments Bank customers can access convenient banking services at these 14,000 fuel stations e.g., open new accounts, make cash deposits and withdrawals facility, and transfer money.

Airtel Payments Bank’s retail based network already leverages over 300,000 Airtel retail outlets as banking points.

Airtel Payments Bank customers can also make digital payments for fuel purchases across 14,000 HPCL fuel stations by using their mobile phones.

Customers can make cashless payments via smartphones (MyAirtel App) as well as feature phones (USSD). There will be no transaction fee for digital payments at these retail outlets.

Airtel’s digital payments ecosystem has over 3 million merchant partners / outlet across India.
