StarHub Acquires MyRepublic Mobile Business with 85,000 Subscribers in Singapore
StarHub has agreed to acquire MyRepublic’s Singapore mobile business, adding approximately 85,000 active subscribers to its multi-brand wireless portfolio. The transaction follows the earlier migration of MyRepublic’s mobile customers toward StarHub’s 4G and nationwide 5G network. MyRepublic Mobile generated about S$2.4 million in net profit during the 12 months ended June 30, 2026, with blended monthly revenue per user of approximately S$13. The acquisition price depends on subscriber metrics and has not been announced as a fixed amount. Completion is expected by April 30, 2027, subject to conditions. StarHub plans to retain the MyRepublic brand and maintain existing customer services during the ownership transition.
floLIVE and Skylo Launch Cellular-Satellite IoT Connectivity Across Brazil
floLIVE and Skylo Technologies have introduced integrated terrestrial cellular and satellite IoT connectivity for customers in Brazil through local partners iuh! Digital and NLT Telecom. Devices use cellular networks where available and switch to Skylo’s non-terrestrial network when ground coverage is inadequate, retaining the same SIM and management platform. The companies say compatible 3GPP Release 17 devices can enable satellite connectivity through software without replacing existing hardware. The service targets agriculture, logistics, utilities, transportation and remote industrial operations. floLIVE’s wider distributed mobile-core infrastructure includes more than 70 local points of presence and supports compliance arrangements across approximately 214 countries and regions. No Brazilian subscriber or device activation total was disclosed.
WTC Fiber Completes $830,000 Public Wi-Fi Network with 124 Access Points in Kansas
WTC Fiber has completed a public Wi-Fi network across Manhattan, Kansas, installing 124 access points under a project valued at approximately $830,000. Funding was awarded through the state’s Advancing Digital Opportunities to Promote Technology program in 2024, and the newly completed installation extends public connectivity to participating community locations. WTC will provide internet service to those locations without charge for five years and maintain the supporting fiber, cabling and network equipment. The build combines fixed fiber backhaul with wireless access rather than expanding a commercial mobile network. The operator has not published a measured aggregate traffic capacity or a confirmed count of individual users served by the new access points.
