Airtel names Uninor veteran Jinesh Hegde as CEO of Sri Lanka biz

Bharti Airtel has appointed Uninor veteran Jinesh Hegde as chief executive officer of its Sri Lanka operations.

Jinesh, who will replace Suren Goonewardene, will report to Ajai Puri, director – Market Operations (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel.

Suren Goonewardene has been re-designated as non-executive chairman of Airtel Lanka.

Prior to joining Airtel, Jinesh worked with Uninor, a subsidiary of Telenor Group.

Airtel Lanka’s 3G presence is across 70 percent of its network.
