Airtel launches free Wynk Games as part of expanding OTT biz

Telecom network operator Bharti Airtel has launched free Wynk Games, as part of expanding its OTT business.

Earlier, the telecom network operator introduced Wynk Music.

The mobile app based gaming will host more than 2,000 games including several premium and paid titles at no additional cost. Cricket, sports, racing, adventure, cards, kids and puzzles are some of the games available.

Airtel is offering free Wynk Games subscription to Airtel users. The cost for other customers will be Rs 29.

Launched in September 2014, Airtel’s Wynk Music has achieved over 15 million downloads. Out of this, one third is from Airtel users. The music app has grown from over 1 million songs played per a day in April 2015 to 8 million songs played each day. The consumption has grown 50x over the last 18 months.
