At present, established telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are facing stiff competition from Reliance Jio Infocomm, an all-India 4G operator promoted by Mukesh Ambani. The Airtel letter to Gurgaon police did not mention about Jio and Jio’s support for the illegal campaign.

Airtel also received approximately 3,000 with the same subject and same content from the  same sender. The email id from which the email was received is info@techaajkal.com.

On-going through the contents of the email it is evident that the sender of the email desiresto malign Bharti airtel’s brand name by initiating a motivated complaint for the services provided by Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone to TRAI.

In order to identify the authenticity of the email and the identity of the email sender, Airtel initiated an exercise to check the source from which email was sent.

As a first step Airtel checked the registration date and “whois” information of the domain name techaa¡kaI.com.

“The information that we could gather was that domain name“techaajkal.com” is relatively new and was registered on 9 January 2017.

An attempt to conceal the details of the owner of the website was also made.

Airtel found that the domain “mailer1.techaajkaI.com” has adigital certificate registered in the name of shailendra@vaishnaviit.in.

The same email address is used for obtaining digital certificates for other domains including the domain   mail.]Iohomedeliverv.com  and mail.myawacs.com.

Airtel’s investigation revealed that email id shailendra@vaishnaviit.in in all likelihood belongs to  Shailendra S Jha with contact number being 09702475295.

Bharathunt.com and Ovmedia.in belong to Shailendra S Jha with contact number 09702475295.

Company name

Vaishnavi Infotech, 9-Ram Bahal Yadav Chawl Caves Road, Pratap Nagar, Near Avishkar Building, Jogeshwari East, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400060.

Airtel said Shailendra S Jha with contact number 09702475295 is associated with  mall.Jiohomedeliverv.com .

“Shailendra S Jhahas in collusion with unknown persons are maligning the Airtel brand by indulging in illegal activities to cause wrongful loss to our organisation and at the same time wrongfully gain by knowingly and intentionally causing harm to our reputation, malignand damage the reputation of our brand for benefitting our competitor in the telecom industry,” said Airtel.
