Airtel Africa achieves growth in revenue, subscribers and ARPU

Airtel Africa said its revenue increased by 13.8 percent to $2.870 billion, while operating profit rose by 21.8 percent to $800 million in the December quarter of fiscal 2021.
Airtel Africa in KenyaAirtel Africa’s team headed by CEO Raghunath Mandava achieved business growth across all regions for the nine months: Nigeria up 21.6 percent, East Africa up 23.4 percent and Francophone Africa up 8 percent; and across all services, with voice revenue up 10.4 percent, data up 31.1 percent and mobile money up 34.2 percent.

Razvan Ungureanu is the chief technology officer (CTO) of Airtel Africa. Neelesh Singh is the chief information officer of of Airtel Africa.

Airtel Africa’s mobile customer base grew 11 percent to 118.9 million, reflecting in ARPU growth of 6.1 percent.

“We are pursuing the sale of owned tower sites. We are in discussions with potential investors to bring minority investments into Airtel Money,” Airtel Africa CEO Raghunath Mandava said.
