ZTE Q1 2014 result: revenue up 6%, profit increases 203% due to 4G LTE

Telecom network vendor ZTE today said its Q1 2014 revenue rose 5.5 percent to RMB 19.05 billion, while its net profit grew 203.5 percent to RMB 622 million. 4G LTE was one of the important growth drivers.

ZTE is expecting 158.1 percent to 222.6 percent growth in its first half net profit to between RMB 800 million and RMB 1 billion.

In the first half of the year, ZTE’s financial performance will benefit from the company’s focus on profitability, improved profit margins in international operations and the growth of revenue from sales of 4G infrastructure systems in China as a proportion of total revenue.

ZTE strategies are aimed at focusing on mobile Internet, 4G, smart phones and devices, in addition to the growth of strategically important sectors such as cloud-computing, Internet of Things and Smart City.
