ZTE, China Mobile, and MINO Equipment Collaborate on 5G-A Industrial Field Network Technology

At the 2023 China Radio Conference, ZTE Corporation, China Mobile Research Institute, and Guangzhou MINO Equipment signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate on advancing 5G-A Industrial Field Network Technology.
ZTE @ MWC 2022The signing ceremony was attended by Ding Haiyu, Vice Dean of China Mobile Research Institute, Zhang Wanchun, Senior Vice President of ZTE, and Zuo Zhijun, Dean of Guangzhou MINO Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing and Advanced Technology Research Institute.

With a focus on integrating innovative 5G-A technologies into the industrial Internet landscape, the collaboration aims to research and apply key technologies related to 5G-A industrial field networks. Leveraging China Mobile Research Institute’s strategic plan of integrating the “Innovation Chain-Industry Chain” dual-chain, and building on China Mobile’s 5G-A industrial field network solution, the partnership will concentrate on R&D and industrialization of 5G-A technologies tailored to industrial Internet scenarios.

ZTE will contribute 5G-A products and solutions, while MINO Equipment will provide an industrial implementation platform based on its application scenarios and data in the industrial manufacturing sector. Additionally, the three parties will collaborate on exploring 5G-A commercial models and expanding the industrial ecosystem, with the ultimate goal of establishing a benchmark demonstration for 5G-A industrial Internet.

Ding Haiyu, Vice Dean of China Mobile Research Institute, emphasized the vast potential of 5G-A for industrial development, stating that this collaboration is a pivotal step towards building a robust 5G-A industry ecosystem.

Tang Xue, Vice President of ZTE, highlighted the strategic significance of this cooperation, anticipating that it will enable ZTE to establish a closed loop within the industrial chain alongside partners. This, in turn, will facilitate the integration of 5G-A technical solutions into the industrial Internet, catalyzing industrial digital transformation.

Zuo Zhijun, Dean of Guangzhou MINO Equipment Intelligent Manufacturing and Advanced Technology Research Institute, reiterated MINO Equipment’s dedication to applying cutting-edge technologies like 5G and 5G-A to drive the intelligent upgrade of manufacturing. MINO Equipment aims to provide customers with IDS industrial data services, intelligent manufacturing full-stack solutions, and MaaS intelligent manufacturing technology services.

The signing of the “5G-A Industrial Field Network Technology Cooperation MOU” marks a significant milestone in fostering collaboration and innovation. By capitalizing on the strengths of all parties involved, the collaboration seeks to accelerate the development and maturation of the industrial chain related to 5G-A-enabled field-level applications. This initiative injects new vitality into the digital and intelligent industries, making substantial contributions to the emerging digital economy.
