Telecom equipment market leaders in Q1 2022

Dell’Oro Group has shared the latest market share of Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, ZTE, Cisco, Ciena and Samsung in the global telecom equipment market during Q1 2022.
Telecom equipment share in Q1 2022Telecom equipment market revenue rose 4-5 percent in Q1 2022, lifted by robust demand for wireline-related equipment and modest growth in wireless business.

There was surging growth in North America (+13 percent) and modest mid-single-digit expansion in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA). There was poor demand in the Asia Pacific region including India and China.

Huawei’s share in telecom equipment market is decreasing. Huawei is still strong despite challenges in the United States.

The share of Nokia in telecom network market is dropping.

The share of Ericsson in telecom equipment market is also decreasing.

ZTE’s telecom equipment revenue share approached 12 percent in the quarter, up roughly four percentage points since 2018.

The share of Cisco in telecom equipment is growing.

The share of Ciena is also growing.

The share of Samsung in the telecom equipment market is growing.

Dell’Oro said global telecom equipment revenues are projected to increase 4 percent in 2022 and record a fifth consecutive year of growth. The growth in telecom equipment revenue was 8 percent in 2021.
