Storage revenue share: Dell, NetApp and IBM lost

Enterprise storage systems market revenue fell 0.8 percent year over year to $6.3 billion in the second quarter of 2019, IDC report said.

Dell Technologies has 29.9 percent share in the enterprise external storage revenue. Dell Technologies has lost its storage revenue share to 29.9 percent in Q2 2019 from 30.2 percent in Q2 2018. Dell Technologies reported storage revenue of $1891 million vs $1927 million.

HPE has 11.7 percent and NetApp has 10.8 percent of the storage market revenue. HPE has increased its storage revenue share to 11.7 percent from 10.2 percent. HPE reported storage revenue of $740 million vs $652 million.

NetApp has also lost its storage revenue share to 10.8 percent from 13.1 percent. NetApp has posted storage revenue of $684 million vs $832 million.

IBM has 7.1 percent share and Hitachi has 6.9 percent share of global external storage market revenues. IBM has lost its storage revenue share to 7.1 percent from 9.1 percent. IBM reported storage revenue of $448 million vs $580 million.

Hitachi has enhanced its storage revenue share to 6.9 percent from 6.3 percent. The storage revenue of Hitachi increased to $437 million vs $402 million.
