Sterlite appoints Swati Rangachari as chief of corporate affairs

Sterlite Technologies has appointed former Ericsson executive Swati Rangachari as chief of corporate affairs.

Sterlite Technologies is in the process of building its strong presence in Digital India. The cumulative investment in the Indian telecom infrastructure will be $60 billion in the next 5 years. Sterlite Technologies, in partnership with the Government, is aiming to be a major driver in India’s transformation to the digital age.

Sterlite is implementing key government projects such as Defence’s network for spectrum, smart city and BharatNet.

Anand Agarwal, CEO of Sterlite Technologies, said: “Her engagement is pivotal to our commitment towards critical government programmes such as Digital India, BharatNet, Smart Cities, Make in India, amongst others.”

Based in Delhi NCR, Swati Rangachari, as a member of the executive council of Sterlite, will lead government affairs related to public policy, industry strategy and engagement.

Swati Rangachari’s earlier assignments as senior director of Corporate Affairs, Visa India & South Asia, and vice president of Corporate Affairs, Ericsson India. She has held leadership positions in telecom, financial services, aerospace and IT sectors.
