Sonus Networks expands SBC portfolio

Telecom Lead America: Sonus Networks, a provider of
SIP communications, has chalked out its strategy to help enterprises transition
and announced an expanded portfolio of purpose-built enterprise SBCs as well as
corresponding professional services.

The company has expanded its professional services lab
and testing environments to provide large enterprises access to the same
resources that the world’s largest service provider’s leverage.

Sonus has introduced the Sonus SBC 5100, which is
purpose-built to use SIP-based networks as enterprises look to simplify their
infrastructure and deploy video and Unified Communications features.

For very large enterprise environments, Sonus unveiled
enhanced model of Sonus SBC 5200.

As companies connect in more ways, through more devices,
across even more platforms, the requirement to bring capability and simplicity
back to enterprise networks is essential. As a result, more large enterprises
see their communications requirements similar to that of a small service
provider and have subsequently turned to Sonus for solutions,” said Ray Dolan,
president and CEO of Sonus.

The company said that it has brought the expertise,
security and scale learned from years of building the largest
telecommunications networks into an SBC portfolio that uniquely addresses
enterprise customers’ requirements for session volume and complexity that is
resulting from the confluence of today’s communication needs.

The company added that enterprises can reduce their
traditional telecom bills by up to 75 percent through SIP trunking and the
deployment of VoIP.

With the rapid adoption of Unified Communications, video
and real-time collaboration tools the demand for scale, reliability and
simplicity becomes even more critical. Requirements are for solutions
supporting robust, scalable networks in the most demanding environments
allowing the move to address enterprise requirements for UCaaS with carrier
grade reliability, scale and manageability,” said Akshay Sharma, research
director at Gartner.

Sonus Networks selects Infobright for real-time VoIP analytics

Last year, Sonus Networks, a provider of IP-based network
solutions, has selected Infobright Enterprise Edition as the new embedded
analytic database for its Network Analytics solutions that measures and
monitors network performance.
