This agreement aims to provide an improved customer experience with top-tier speeds, increased capacity, and superior performance throughout Orange’s network in Southeastern and Western France.

Orange will conduct trials of Nokia’s 5G Cloud RAN solutions to evaluate the transition of its network toward Cloud RAN technology.

Nokia will supply equipment from its O-RAN-compliant 5G AirScale portfolio, which includes its next-generation high-capacity AirScale baseband solutions. Additionally, the deployment will feature Nokia’s lightweight and high-output Massive MIMO Habrok radios, as well as the Pandion portfolio of FDD multiband remote radio heads, designed to support various use cases and deployment scenarios.

These solutions are powered by Nokia’s energy-efficient ReefShark System-on-Chip technology, ensuring enhanced coverage and capacity. Nokia will integrate its AI-powered radio network management solution, MantaRay NM, which is designed to support all radio and mobile core technologies, optimizing network efficiency and performance.

A key component of this agreement is Orange’s trial of Nokia’s 5G Cloud RAN solutions, which underscores Nokia’s commitment to helping global customers transition to Cloud RAN technology with future-proof solutions. Nokia’s anyRAN approach ensures that operators have strategic flexibility in evolving their networks, offering purpose-built, hybrid, or Cloud RAN solutions to maintain high performance while driving network innovation.

Emmanuel Lugagne Delpon, CTO at Orange France, highlighted the significance of this extension by emphasizing that Nokia’s advanced equipment portfolio will contribute to enhancing the customer experience, minimizing environmental impact, and optimizing energy efficiency within Orange’s network.

Tommi Uitto, President of Mobile Networks at Nokia, expressed enthusiasm about continuing the partnership with Orange France, reinforcing Nokia’s role in supporting the operator’s network performance, sustainability initiatives, and commitment to achieving net carbon neutrality. With its energy-efficient AirScale portfolio and AI-driven MantaRay network management solution, Nokia aims to help Orange deliver a premium connectivity experience to its customers.
