NSN offers more security to E-Plus 4G LTE network in Germany

Telecom service provider E-Plus Group has tapped Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN) to ensure more security to its 4G LTE network.

The German operator will utilize NSN radio access security solution including a Security Gateway and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to protect the 4G network from unauthorized access, manipulation and other threats.

As part of the 4G security deal, NSN will implement a 3GPP-compliant security solution to ensure safe and better mobile broadband experience for E-Plus subscribers. Additional benefits include authentication of network elements and lower costs due to the automatic rollout and lifecycle management of base station certificates.

Gerhard Ludtke, director Access Network at E-Plus Group, said the company is committed to ensuring a secure telecommunications network environment for its subscribers.

The NSN 4G security solution is expected to ensure that only operator-authorized base stations can access the LTE network. Efficient operation is achieved through fully automated certificate lifecycle management.
