NETGEAR integrates quad-play small cell home gateway with Alcatel-Lucent network

By Telecom Lead Team: NETGEAR has integrated its
DEVG2000F Small Cell Home Gateway with Alcatel-Lucent mobile network
infrastructure that will be available for network integration by service
providers.

The DEVG2000F is the result of a collaboration with Broadcom
and Alcatel-Lucent to lower costs, deliver higher performance and expand mobile
coverage for service providers.

The DEVG2000F quad-play small cell home gateway allows
operators to expand 3G HSPA+ Mobile coverage beyond the reach of their existing
footprint to fixed line customers at home.

The DEVG2000F can be seamlessly integrated with mobile
and fixed broadband network infrastructures used by many of our service
provider customers, and is a key addition to our growing CPE product
portfolio,” said Michael Clegg, GM & SVP, service provider business
unit at NETGEAR.

Mobile operators further benefit from reduced OPEX with
the extension of network management into their customers’ premises.

The DEVG2000F is a fully integrated small cell home
gateway that uses fixed broadband access to deliver 3G HSPA+ data rates of up
to 21.6Mbps downstream / 5.76Mbps upstream to up to 8 mobile clients.

It also integrates four Ethernet ports and N300 802.11n
WiFi. The DEVG2000F further includes dual WAN for failover and back-up for
network access.

Furthermore, with the NETGEAR Smart Network Cloud
Application Platform infrastructure, mobile operators have an option to provide
value-added services to their customers by developing apps for small cells.

“Fueling innovation in small cell home gateway
technology, Broadcom continues its partnership with NETGEAR and Alcatel-Lucent
to develop the world’s first fully integrated Small Cell Residential Gateway
product enabled for the Alcatel-Lucent global network,” said Greg
Fischer, vice president and general manager for carrier access products at
Broadcom.

Recently,  NETGEAR
announced that the NETGEAR MVBR1210C HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Voice Router,
developed with Sierra Wireless is ready for deployment in operator
networks.
