Mobinil expands deal with NetCracker to monetize investment in 3G

NetCracker
Technology announced today that Mobinil has completed Phase 2 of its ongoing 3G
transformation program, focusing on rapidly operationalizing and monetizing its
investment in 3G infrastructure.

“We
were very pleased with the way that NetCracker worked closely with us to manage
the complexities of Phase 1 of our transformation. They delivered the project
on time and on budget,” said Yasser Shaker, Mobinil’s VP of Technology.

With
more than 30 million customers, Mobinil is Egypt’s leading mobile operator. In 2009,
NetCracker announced that it was selected to transform Mobinil’s 3G
infrastructure. Phase 1 of that project, which centered on automating service
fulfillment and service activation, was completed successfully. Phase 2, which
builds on the success of Phase 1 and focuses on the Resource Layer to ensure
optimization of the infrastructure, has now been delivered successfully as
well.

“Mobinil
has demonstrated incredible market leadership through its ambitious 3G
transformation project,” said Andrew Feinberg, president and CEO of NetCracker.

For
Phase 2, Mobinil utilized the full suite of fulfillment products in
NetCracker’s Telecom Operations and Management portfolio.

To
manage delivery of the turnkey NetCracker solution, Mobinil selected NetCracker
as Systems Integrator, drawing on the company’s comprehensive professional
services capabilities, proven best practices, and unbroken solution delivery
track record. As SI, NetCracker assumed full responsibility for the project and
worked closely with Mobinil’s Engineering Group to provide ongoing guidance,
resources, and support.
