Guangzhou Digital selects Casa Systems for expanding telecom network

Casa
Systems, a provider of next generation cable edge technology, announced that it
has been selected by one of China’s largest cable network operators, Guangzhou
Digital Media Group, to expand its broadband communications services to
subscribers using the C10G Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS).

The
network expansion will assist in more than tripling the capacity of the C3K’s
currently installed in Guangzhou Digital Media Group’s network to support their
rapid growth plans over the next year.

Guangzhou
Digital Media Group will significantly increase its Casa Systems CMTS network
and expand its coverage in the city of Guangzhou. Guangzhou is China’s 6th
largest city with an estimated population of 12.7M people.

Guangzhou
Digital Media Group selected Casa Systems and the C10G for its advanced system design and technology, its ability to
easily scale to support the explosive demand for both IPTV and residential
broadband services and the company’s ability to provide timely response to
operational questions while delivering high quality, technical support.

“We
are honored to have the opportunity to expand our partnership with Guangzhou
Digital Media Group,” said Jerry Guo, founder and CEO of Casa Systems.

Casa
Systems innovative approach enables cable operators to cost effectively offer
highly scalable broadband services such as IPTV, video-over-IP, interactive
gaming, as well as traditional broadband access and VoIP services. As the
industry’s only vendor with full DOCSIS 3.0 and PacketCable 1.5 qualification,
Casa Systems products deliver reliability, scalability, performance, and
operational simplicity.
