Extreme Networks unveils new line of 802.11n wireless LAN access points

Telecom Lead America: Expanding its Intelligent Mobile
Edge (IME) Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) campus solution portfolio,
Extreme Networks has introduced a new line of 802.11n wireless LAN access
points.

 

Supported by ExtremeXOS, the new line aims at making
mobility more affordable and complements the company’s identity management, and
device onboarding, with Smart RF for automated site deployment of wireless
LANs.

 

The solution is a single modular software platform
supporting all edge and core network switches and helps mobilize businesses and
schools with a combination of hardware and software intelligence easing the
burden of the BYOD movement.

 

“The growth of wireless traffic and new devices has
organizations struggling with the costs of upgrading their networks to meet
user demand. Extreme Networks is addressing the challenge by providing IT with
increased WLAN options, and lower prices supporting the most sophisticated,
enterprise-class mobility solution,” said David Ginsburg, CMO for Extreme
Networks.

 

Nowadays, Enterprises need affordable solutions to deploy
next-generation 802.11n wireless technology without compromising mobility
features and performance.

 

The company said that its enhanced range of IME allows
enterprises respond to the explosion of devices and wireless services across
campus networks.

 

Extreme Networks new wireless APs serve to lower the cost
of deploying wireless networks and meet the growing demands of increased
wireless traffic with intelligence and independence.

 

The new line of 802.11n wireless LAN access points
includes Altitude 4021, a single radio dependent access point that delivers
802.11n performance at a lower cost priced at $274.

 

The other access points are Altitude 4521and Altitude
4532, priced at $422.00 and $779.00 respectively.

 

Extreme Networks introduces 10 gigabit Ethernet copper modules

 

Earlier, the company launched 10 gigabit Ethernet (GbE)
copper modules for its BlackDiamond X8 core switch and new copper versions of its
Summit X670 Top-of-Rack fixed data center switches.
