Ericsson to acquire telecom software developer Ericpol

Mobile network vendor Ericsson announced its deal to acquire telecom software development company Ericpol.

Ericpol, which also has ICT capabilities markets for information communication and industry verticals such as automotive, automation, banking, healthcare and administration, has operations in Poland and Ukraine.

Ericsson is the largest telecom network customer for Ericpol. Ericsson did not share financial details of the deal.

As part of the deal, nearly 2,000 employees will join Ericsson, taking the total number of employees of Ericsson to 2500 in Poland. The acquisition is expected to take place during the first quarter of 2016.

The acquisition of Ericpol’s operations in Poland and Ukraine will enable Ericsson to secure software development competence within radio, cloud and IP.
