Antel trials VMware Telco Cloud Platform

Antel, a leading mobile operator in Uruguay, is working with VMware for a trial using the VMware Telco Cloud Platform to support a Proof of Concept (PoC).
VMware for telecomsAntel aims to use a virtualized and containerized telco cloud architecture to modernize legacy networks. This cloud native architecture will help Antel gain operational efficiency and bring services and innovation to market faster.

Antel will use the integrated platform to deploy new network functions on the same Telco Cloud architecture from core to RAN to edge, enabling the scale and agility needed to deliver services on the 5G network.

“VMware offers service providers a single platform to modernize their network infrastructure efficiently and cost effectively to help with the rollout of 5G networks,” said Sanjay Uppal, senior vice president and general manager, Service Provider and Edge, VMware.
