Aksh Optifibre, a manufacturer of optical fibre and optical fibre cables, said its revenue rose 23 percent to Rs 594 crore with EBITDA margin of 12 percent and profit of Rs 23 crore in fiscal 2017-18.
The company’s total OFC manufacturing capacity will be 10.7 million FKM following the addition of new OFC capacity at Silvassa and Mauritius in June.
Aksh Optifibre has started building its optical fibre manufacturing facility in Dubai. The fibre making company said construction work at its FRP production plant in China is also on track, and it is expected to start the commercial production in September 2018.
“We expect to see the benefits of our capacity expansion initiatives in the financial year 2019 and beyond,” Satyendra Gupta, deputy managing director at Aksh Optifibre, said.
The global consumption of fibre was nearly 520 million fibre-km bare fibre in 2017. The Indian fibre manufacturing company has also noticed stability in the price of optical fibre.
China and 5G will boost the demand for optical fibre.
