Sequans powers Tikona’s single mode LTE CPEs

Sequans Communications announced that its LTE chipset is powering the new single mode LTE CPEs being deployed by Tikona Digital Systems across India.

The announcement was made at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2015) in Barcelona.

Tikona is a regional broadband player in India with BWA license to run 4G on TD-LTE on select telecom circles.

Telenet Systems, a telecom networking and devices company based in Mumbai, India, has designed LTE Outdoor CPE (customer premises equipment).

“We chose Sequans LTE chipset technology for this new CPE because it has category 4 performance for very high throughput and because it offers the best price/performance,” said Sunil Mehta, chairman, Telenet Systems.

The LTE technology inside the Telenet Systems CPE is Sequans Mont Blanc LTE chipset. Mont Blanc is a category 4 single mode LTE solution, comprising Sequans’ baseband SOC and LTE-optimized transceiver, an integrated network and application CPU, a software package, and reference designs.

Earlier today, Sequans Communications announced that its LTE-Advanced chipset, Cassiopeia, with dual-carrier aggregation and category 6 throughput capabilities, has been adopted for use in a new CPE launching on the network of Linkem, a provider of wireless broadband services in Italy. The new CPE supports multiple TDD and FDD bands, and inter-band and intra-band carrier aggregation.
