The opening of the new Mi Store — in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh – is aimed at expanding the reach of Mi Stores to small towns as well. Mi Stores are now present across 850 cities in the country.

“Our exclusive retail network has made it possible for thousands of individuals to become entrepreneurs through their association with Mi India. We are determined to scale bigger heights together with our Partners and Mi Fans,” said Muralikrishnan B, COO of Mi India, in a statement.

Mi India opened its first Mi Store on August 15, 2018, in Bengaluru and in a little over two years, has reached the milestone of 3000 Mi stores in the country.

This year marks the sixth anniversary of Mi India and the company posted a video where they spoke at length about optimising, disrupting and growing the Indian retail ecosystem.

Mi India currently has over 75 Mi Homes, more than 45 Mi Studios, over 8,000 Mi preferred partners and more than 4,000 large format retail partners.

Xiaomi earlier reported that its revenue rose 3.1 percent in the quarter ending June 30, while sales rose to 53.54 billion yuan or $7.77 billion.

Overall revenue from the company’s smartphones business, which accounts for nearly two-thirds of its revenue, fell 1.2 percent to 31.6 billion yuan. Xiaomi sold 28.3 million handsets in the quarter, down from 32.1 million units a year earlier.
