Sony Ericsson in pact with Bharti Airtel to launch 3G phone

Sony Ericsson announced the
launch of Xperia neo V and Xperia pro that come with special offers for Bharti
Airtel mobile customers.

As part of the go-to-market
strategy for this launch, Sony Ericsson has collaborated with India’s largest
mobile service operator, Bharti Airtel, to
offer customers with 500 MB/month of free 3G/2G data usage for the first three
months since the time of purchase of any of these Xperia phones. In addition to
this, Airtel mobile customers buying these new Xperia devices will also be able
to enjoy free Mobile TV experience for 200 minutes or 2 months, whichever
earlier.

“We are delighted to
partner with Airtel, India’s number one mobile operator. This has further
strengthened our consumer value proposition for the new Xperia mobiles. With a
price starting at Rs 9000, our multi-tasking smartphones are the most
affordable and feature-rich Android smartphones at 1 GHz,” said P Balaji,
managing director, Sony Ericsson India.

While Sony Ericsson will bring a powerful 3G experience with Airtel through this integrated offer,
Airtel is empowering the new devices to deliver hi-speed communication
entertainment options to users, on-the-go.

As market trends indicate
rapid rise in data consumption and increasing penetration of 3G services,
today’s discerning Indian customer telecom market is looking for devices that
deliver the ultimate user experience.

“We are confident that the
new range of Xperia smartphones will deliver a truly promising infotainment
experience for our high value customers and are excited to join hands with Sony
Ericsson towards delighting them with exciting offers from Airtel,” said N Rajaram,
chief marketing officer Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel.
