Chinese devices maker Lenovo today announced its new management team.
As part of the restructuring, Lenovo also renamed some groups and discontinued one group.
Yang Yuanqing, chairman and CEO of Lenovo, said: “In the last year, Lenovo has delivered solid results, the fast integration of Motorola and System x businesses, and a series of innovative product launches across our portfolio. We must accelerate our transformation into to a customer-centric company.”
Gianfranco Lanci, group president and COO, will head its new PC and Smart Device Business Group. The group will have PCs, detatchables, tablets, phablets, gaming and smart home products across Windows, Chrome and Android based products.
Lenovo’s geographic sales and global operations organizations will continue to report to Gianfranco Lanci.
Lenovo has renamed its Enterprise Business Group as the Data Center Group (DCG). Gerry Smith is president of the new Lenovo Data Center Group. Peter Hortensius, CTO of Lenovo, will join DCG as both CTO and head of strategy. Qingtong Zhou will join DCG as CFO, while remaining Lenovo’s global CIO.
Lenovo’s Mobile Business Group will be headed by Xudong Chen and Aymar de Lencquesaing as co-presidents of MBG.
Xudong Chen will focus on the China mobile business, while Aymar de Lencquesaing, formerly head of Lenovo North America, will handle global mobile business.
Rick Osterloh has decided to leave Motorola Mobility. Aymar de Lencquesaing will become chairman and president of Motorola.
Lenovo will discontinue its Ecosystem and Cloud Services (ECS) Group. Lenovo will move product-related personal cloud services functions of ECS into the business groups.
