The Indian Cellular Association (ICA) on Monday said it has signed an agreement with Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry (III) to co-operate in various fields including the National Optical Fibre Network, smart cities, Internet of Things, and other technologies under the Digital India programme.
The III – a player in digital technology deployment and information society programmes – will provide its expertise to ICA’s ongoing digital India initiative – “Action Centre for Smart and Broadband Bharat (ACSBB)”, an ICA statement said.
“Our partnership with the global leader in digital technology deployment and information society programs will speed up swift realization of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Smart Bharat,” said ICA president Pankaj Mohindroo.
The ICA is the apex body of mobile handset industry which comprises of manufacturers, brand owners, technology providers, value-added service application and solution providers, distributors, retail chains and eminent consumers of mobile handsets.
“This is one more of our initiatives towards unlocking country’s digital potential while strengthening government’s ambitious ‘Digital India’ programme,” Mohindroo added.
