Google revenue up 35% to $12.21 billion, Motorola chips in 10% income

Telecom Lead America: Google has posted $12.21 billion
revenue for second quarter ended June 30, 2012, an increase of 35 percent
compared to the same quarter of 2011. Motorola has contributed 10 percent
revenue.


This quarter, Google revenue includes income from
Motorola mobile and home business.


Motorola posted $1.25 billion revenue ($843 million from
the mobile segment and $407 million from the home segment), or 10 percent of
consolidated revenues in the second quarter of 2012.


Google reported Q2 net income of $2.79 billion, compared
to $2.51 billion in the second quarter of 2011.


Motorola Operating Loss was $233 million ($192 million
for the mobile segment and $41 million for the home segment), or -19 percent of
Motorola revenues in the second quarter of 2012.


Google’s Operating income in the second quarter of 2012
was $3.20 billion, or 26 percent of revenues. This compares to operating income
of $2.88 billion, or 32 percent of revenues, in the second quarter of 2011.


Google Revenues (advertising and other) were $10.96
billion, or 90 percent of consolidated revenues, in the second quarter of 2012,
representing a 21 percent increase over second quarter 2011 revenues of $9.03
billion.


Google-owned sites generated revenues of $7.54 billion,
or 69 percent of Google revenues, in the second quarter of 2012, growing at 21
percent.


Google’s partner sites generated revenues of $2.98 billion,
or 27 percent of Google revenues, in the second quarter of 2012, up 20 percent.


Google revenues from outside of the United States totaled
$5.96 billion, representing 54 percent of Google revenues in the second quarter
of 2012, compared to 54 percent in the first quarter of 2012 and 54 percent in
the second quarter of 2011.


Google revenues from the United Kingdom totaled $1.18
billion, representing 11 percent of Google revenues in the second quarter of
2012, compared to 11 percent in the second quarter of 2011.


Aggregate paid clicks, which include clicks related to
ads served on Google sites and the sites of our Network members, increased
approximately 42 percent over the second quarter of 2011 and increased
approximately 1 percent over the first quarter of 2012.


Google said it expects to continue to make significant
capital expenditures.


Google employed 54,604 full-time employees (34,311 in
Google business and 20,293 in Motorola business) as of June 30, 2012, compared
to 33,077 full-time employees as of March 31, 2012.
