AuthenTec, a provider of mobile and network security, announced that two new
waterproof phones available from NTT DOCOMO leverage touch-powered features of
AuthenTec’s AES1750 smart fingerprint sensor.
The two new Fujitsu phones integrate a waterproof AES1750 smart sensor that
utilizes AuthenTec’s durable TouchStone packaging for touch-powered features
including convenient fingerprint security, user personalization and faster,
more secure NFC-based mobile wallet payments.
The AES1750 smart sensor enhances touch-powered features of these mobile phones
by giving users the ability to quickly and securely lock and unlock the phone
with the simple swipe of a finger and personalize certain functions of these
waterproof mobile phones.
Mobile wallet purchases can be authenticated by using the AES1750, enhancing
the security of mobile commerce transactions made via the phones.
AuthenTec’s AES1750 sensor combines multiple touch-powered functions in an
elegant, one-half millimeter thickness, yet highly durable package that is easy
to integrate in mobile phones, tablets, remote controls, GPS navigation devices
and other electronic products.

NTT DOCOMO has more than 500,000 Osaifu-Keitai payment terminals in Japan which
now accept payment via NFC-enabled mobile phones, with terminal locations at
many retail chains, convenience stores, restaurants, subway terminals and
vending machines.
