Telecom Lead India: Cypress Semiconductor that serves
markets including mobile handsets, computation, data communications,
automotive, industrial and military, has appointed Badri Kothandaraman as
executive vice president and executive director of Cypress Semiconductor India.
Kothandaraman, who has been with Cypress for more than
sixteen years, will be responsible for managing and growing India operations.
He reports directly to Cypress President and CEO, T.J. Rodgers.

India,” said Kothandaraman.
Kothandaraman joined Cypress in 1995 as a technology
development engineer in the US. In 1998, he moved back to India to run a design
team that delivered over 25 SRAM products in technologies ranging from
0.5-micron to 90-nm. He returned to California in 2008 as a business unit
director in the Memory Products Division. Now, with broad experience in
process, design and product division management, Kothandaraman returns to India
to oversee all of Cypress India’s operations.
India has grown to be a vital part of Cypress in the
last five years. It was important for us to have a successful Cypress veteran
lead our India operations to its next level of growth, since many of our
strategic new products such as PSoC, Memory and USB solutions are designed
there. This is a big opportunity for Badri and for Cypress India to participate
in leading Cypress to achieve our future goals,” said Rodgers.
Cypress has been operating in India for more than 15
years. The company has 591 employees in its Bangalore and Chennai facilities,
including half of its global design engineers. Cypress conducts all aspects of
the business in India, including design engineering, product engineering,
testing and characterization, applications engineering, software development,
IT, strategic marketing, marketing support, planning, operations and finance.
