Coolpad targets 1 mn phone sale with new retail strategy

Coolpad today announced its presence in Indian retail shops as part of retail strategy for 2017.

The company aims to sell 1 million smartphones in 2017 by covering more than 10 states across the country.

Coolpad said sales volume is expected to increase to 5 million by 2019 with nationwide presence in the retail stores. Coolpad is targeting to sell 3 million phones in 2018.

Through offline strategy, Coolpad aims to cover more than 10 states with 1 million sales volumes by establishing 5,000 core shops and 10,000 retail shops by 2017. The company plans to establish 3,000 A class shops to showcase products.

Coolpad in a statement issued on Monday that Amazon India will be the partner for both online and offline presence. Amazon India will be the national distributor for selling Coolpad’s Note 3S through retail shops.

Currently, Coolpad is working with HCL and Regenersis, which has in total 370 customer care centers across India. The company already has a strong presence in Delhi NCR, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and AP.

“Since the launch of Coolpad in India, we have sold more than 1 million smartphones and the offline presence will contribute majorly to our growth trajectory in India for 2017,” said Syed Tajuddin, CEO of Coolpad India.

Coolpad India will roll out 5-6 products for different segments in the first half of 2017. Coolpad India plans to launch new products targeting retail shops. Mega series will be mainly for offline.
