CES 2012: Samsung Mobile unveils SAFE to masses

By Telecom Lead Team: Samsung Telecommunications America
(Samsung Mobile) announced Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be the
first Samsung Approved for Enterprise (SAFE) devices provided to consumers.
SAFE is an exclusive suite of security features delivering enterprise-friendly capabilities
above and beyond standard Android platform features to safeguard sensitive data
and communications.

The SAFE suit features include Mobile Device Management
(MDM) that maximizes flexibility, On-Device Encryption for security purposes,
Virtual Private Network (VPN) for maximum accessibility.

Releasing the SAFE-certified Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab
7.7 is a win-win situation for U.S. businesses and their employees. More and
more employees are demanding greater choice in the mobile devices they carry
for both work and personal use. Their standards for performance and design are
high and their employer’s security criteria are even higher. Both the Galaxy
Note and the Galaxy Tab 7.7 live up to these standards and provide a ‘SAFE
Landing’ for the large number of users moving away from competitive platforms,”
said Tim Wagner, vice president and general manager of B2B Sales for Samsung Mobile.

SAFE devices support protocols and authentication
measures for better security and faster access for enhanced off-site
productivity. Samsung works with several global VPN providers such as Cisco,
Juniper and others to enable fast, secure and reliable global corporate
connectivity.

SAFE was first introduced to Samsung’s enterprise
customers in October 2011. As more organizations are adopting bring your own
device” (BYOD) policies, Samsung recognized that consumers are increasingly
interested in devices that effectively and elegantly meet their personal and
business mobile needs.

Recently, Samsung Mobile launched Samsung Galaxy Note in the United States with AT&T.

The smartphone is available in carbon blue and ceramic
white. The Galaxy Note combines the core mobile benefits of various devices and
utilizes AT&T’s 4G LTE network, to create a premium user experience.
Powered by 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Galaxy Note is fast, and a smooth user
interface ensures seamless usability.
