BlackBerry to sell majority of its real estate in Canada

Smartphone vendor BlackBerry will sell majority of its real estate in Canada.

This initiative will enhance BlackBerry’s financial flexibility, and will provide additional resources to support operations.

In partnership with CBRE, BlackBerry will divest the majority of its commercial real estate portfolio through a combination of sale-leaseback and vacant asset sales. The properties to be offered for sale comprise over 3 million square feet of space.

BlackBerry will not change its headquarter from Waterloo.

The company does not want share to additional details regarding the price of the properties.
