Beetel appoints Reliance Jio executive Deval Parikh as CEO

Brightstar has appointed Reliance Jio executive Deval Parikh as the CEO and director of Beetel Teletech.

Deval Parikh will be responsible for the growth of handset and accessories services, sales and distribution presence, as well as the fixed line telephone, enterprise solutions and IT peripheral functions at Beetel Teletech.

At Reliance Jio Infocomm, Deval Parikh served as SVP of the mobility business, and he also led the youth segment and other national and regional roles.

Deval Parikh had several leadership positions at Virgin Mobile USA and Virgin Mobile India, which included leading the handset, innovation and services portfolios, as well as the Pan-American supply chain and operations.

Brightstar aims to grab the opportunity from 4G market. Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone India, BSNL, Reliance Jio Infocomm and Reliance Communications will be looking for the top position in the Indian 4G market.

“I am quite excited to join Brightstar India and help usher in the mobile data revolution by having a wide range of devices and telecom equipment for the Indian consumer and businesses,” said Deval Parikh in a statement.

Beetel Teletech, a subsidiary of Brightstar, has more than 500 distributors and partners, 10,000 retailers and 28 warehouses in India.
