Apple’s geography and product-wise revenue in Q1 FY 2013

Telecom Lead America: Apple has clocked revenue of $54.5 billion in first quarter ended December 29, 2012 against $46.3 billion in year-ago quarter.

The device major’s net profit growth was flat at $13.1 billion.

Apple said gross margin was 38.6 percent compared to 44.7 percent in the year-ago quarter.

International sales accounted for 61 percent of the quarter’s revenue.

Apple sold 47.8 million iPhones in the quarter, compared to 37 million in the year-ago quarter.

Apple also sold 22.9 million iPads during the quarter, compared to 15.4 million in the year-ago quarter.

The Company sold 4.1 million Macs, compared to 5.2 million in the year-ago quarter.

Apple sold 12.7 million iPods in the quarter, compared to 15.4 million in the year-ago quarter.

“We’re thrilled with record revenue of over $54 billion and sales of over 75 million iOS devices in a single quarter,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We’re very confident in our product pipeline as we continue to focus on innovation and making the best products in the world.”

Apple’s forecast for its fiscal 2013 second quarter:

Apple is likely to clock revenue between $41 billion and $43 billion.

Gross margin will be between 37.5 percent and 38.5 percent.
