Vodafone tops mobile subscriber net additions in 2014 June: TRAI

Indian telecom regular TRAI today said that Vodafone has topped the mobile wireless subscriber net additions in June 2014.

Vodafone has added 16,22,960 mobile subscribers in June this year against Uninor 14,32,297, Idea Cellular 12,90,772, Bharti Airtel 10,12,566, Aircel 979,201, Reliance Communications, Videocon 140,223 and Sistema ShyamTeleservices (MTS) 48,411.

The main loser was BSNL with 21,40,731 mobile users, Tata Teleservices (Tata Docomo) 104,141 and MTNL 30,304.

Mobile service provider market share June 2014 from TRAI

TRAI said the Indian mobile wireless subscriber base rose 0.52 percent to 914.92 million in June from 910.16 million in May, 2014.

The share of urban wireless subscribers has increased to 58.76 percent from 58.66 percent.

Share of rural wireless subscribers has declined from 41.34 percent to 41.24 percent.

The overall wireless tele-density in India has increased to 73.55 in June from 73.24 in May, 2014
