Vi Launches 5G Services in Sonipat with Unlimited Data Plans Starting at Rs 299

Vi (Vodafone Idea) has launched 5G services in Sonipat. The company offers unlimited data plans starting at Rs 299. This launch is part of the telecom sector’s rollout of 5G networks across India. The 5G service provides faster data speeds and improved network capacity. Vi’s 5G plans include options with different data limits and prices, starting at Rs 299. The company also offers free subscriptions to certain apps and services. The introduction of 5G in Sonipat follows earlier launches in major cities, expanding coverage to more regions. Telecom companies in India are expanding 5G infrastructure to support increased demand for data and new technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT) and enhanced mobile broadband.

Real-Time Spectrum Analysis Market Set to Nearly Double by 2034 Driven by 5G and Defense Needs

The real-time spectrum analysis market is projected to grow from USD 348.20 million in 2024 to USD 648.46 million by 2034, at a CAGR of 6.41 percent. Growth is driven by telecommunications and defense sectors. The telecom industry uses real-time spectrum analyzers (RTSAs) to test and optimize 5G and 6G networks, managing spectrum use and network performance. RTSAs also support military applications by analyzing radar systems and detecting signals for electronic warfare. Portable and cloud-based spectrum analyzers are being developed to enable remote and flexible spectrum monitoring.

Airspan and Gogo Launch First-Ever 5G Air-to-Ground Call, Paving Way for In-Flight Connectivity

Airspan and Gogo completed the first 5G air-to-ground (ATG) call on June 16, 2025. The test used a 5G chipset from GCT Semiconductor integrated into Airspan hardware, enabling an end-to-end lab call. Gogo will begin shipping AVANCE LX5 units for aircraft installation. Over 300 aircraft are already configured for 5G ATG service. The supporting 5G network includes more than 170 towers across the U.S. and parts of Canada, with antennas and core infrastructure ready. The system enables voice calls, streaming, and data access during flight. Airspan applied virtualized Open RAN and massive MIMO technology to support mobile broadband connectivity in aviation. The development was a joint project between Airspan, Gogo, and GCT Semiconductor, advancing telecom infrastructure for in-flight use.
