From Connectivity to Digital Assets: Huawei’s New Token Strategy Opens Revenue Opportunities for Telecom Operators
Huawei has introduced a new Service-Network-Compute integration framework designed to help global telecom operators monetize digital tokens and unlock new revenue streams in the AI era. The solution brings together network capabilities, computing resources, and service platforms to support token-based business models, enabling carriers to participate more effectively in emerging digital ecosystems. According to Huawei, the framework allows operators to capitalize on their network assets, computing power, and customer relationships to facilitate secure digital transactions, enhance user experiences, and create innovative monetization opportunities. As the telecom industry increasingly embraces AI-driven networks and intelligent services, the initiative aims to help operators diversify beyond traditional connectivity revenues and generate long-term growth through digital assets, ecosystem partnerships, and advanced value-added services.
Satellite IoT Takes Off: Iridium and Mlink Launch Live NTN Network Trials
Iridium and Mlink Technology have achieved a key milestone in the evolution of satellite-powered IoT connectivity, with Mlink initiating live, on-air testing of its MS150-IR IoT-NTN chipset on Iridium NTN Direct. The trials move the technology beyond laboratory validation and into real-world satellite network environments, demonstrating its readiness for commercial deployment. Built on 3GPP standards, the solution enables low-power IoT devices to maintain connectivity in areas beyond terrestrial network coverage through Iridium’s global satellite infrastructure. The development is expected to accelerate adoption of standards-based NB-IoT and direct-to-device services, with certification and commercial availability of the MS150-IR chipset anticipated before the end of 2026.
GSMA and China Tower Team Up to Accelerate AI-Ready Mobile Infrastructure
The GSMA has welcomed China Tower as a strategic partner to help advance AI-ready mobile infrastructure, reinforcing the telecom industry’s push toward intelligent and sustainable networks. The collaboration brings together China Tower’s expertise in large-scale infrastructure development and the GSMA’s global mobile ecosystem to support the growing demands of artificial intelligence, 5G, and future digital services. The partnership aims to promote more efficient network deployment, enhance operational performance, and enable wider adoption of AI-powered applications. As telecom operators prepare for increasingly data-intensive technologies, the initiative underscores the importance of scalable infrastructure and industry cooperation in building the foundation for the next generation of digital connectivity and innovation.
