NetActuate Builds Global Dual-Path IP Transport Network to Replace Satellite Distribution
NetActuate has introduced Media Substrate, a managed global transport layer designed to move contribution-grade live video across redundant terrestrial IP routes. The network operates in more than 45 locations worldwide, including 22 locations in the United States, and uses NetActuate’s own autonomous system and BGP control plane. Customers transmit a single stream while the platform automatically operates two underlying paths, measures latency and continuity at every hop, and merges traffic at the receiving end. Network routes can be changed while streams remain active, without requiring customer-side configuration changes. The service is available in managed and dedicated configurations. NetActuate is targeting broadcasters seeking alternatives to leased circuits and satellite distribution, making the platform another example of traditional broadcast transport shifting toward software-controlled, carrier-grade IP networking.
Telit Cinterion Adds Edge AI Directly to 4G, 5G RedCap and 5G Modules
Telit Cinterion plans to introduce an Edge AI SDK during Q4 2026 that will allow machine-learning workloads to run directly on selected 4G, 5G RedCap and high-performance 5G cellular modules without requiring a separate AI accelerator. The software embeds Google’s LiteRT runtime in Linux-based module firmware and supports standard .tflite models, simplifying deployment of existing AI applications. During proof-of-concept testing involving image classification and object detection, inference consumed no more than 17 percent of CPU resources, leaving enough processing headroom to maintain cellular performance without thermal throttling. Target applications include predictive maintenance, acoustic monitoring, smart metering and industrial infrastructure. Integrating AI processing and cellular connectivity into one module could reduce equipment complexity and network traffic by processing data locally before transmitting results over mobile networks.
UNN Allocates Up to 50 MW to Vobile as Brunei Telecom Operator Builds AI-Ready Infrastructure Unified National Networks, Brunei Darussalam’s integrated national telecommunications network operator, has signed strategic cooperation and commercial agreements with Vobile to develop AI infrastructure in the country. UNN’s new AI-capable facility, designed with liquid cooling and high-power-density infrastructure for NVIDIA’s latest GPU systems, will allocate 25 MW of capacity to Vobile, with another 25 MW reserved for future expansion. The agreement was signed at UNN’s Tungku Submarine Cable Landing Station on September 3, 2026. Vobile plans to use the infrastructure for AI factories supporting its DreamMaker platform and related services. The partnership combines UNN’s national telecom infrastructure with Vobile’s AI capabilities and could position Brunei as a regional hub for AI-intensive digital services.
