Satellite Bluetooth Takes Off: Muon Space and Hubble Network Launch Global BLE Connectivity Plan

Muon Space has launched the MuSat XL satellite platform and named Hubble Network as its first customer. MuSat XL is a 500 kg-class satellite bus built to support communication payloads. Hubble Network will use the platform to deploy a space-based Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) network. Two MuSat XL satellites are scheduled for launch in 2027 to detect BLE signals at lower power over longer distances, with a 12-hour revisit time. The system will enable global BLE connectivity for asset tracking and device communication. The MuSat XL platform supports higher payload capacity, over 1 kW power, and fast data transfer, making it suitable for large-scale satellite networks. Hubble previously demonstrated a direct satellite connection from a BLE device in 2024.

Omni Fiber Revolutionizes Connectivity with New Nationwide 5G Wireless Service, Omni Mobile

Omni Fiber launched Omni Mobile, a wireless service with nationwide 5G coverage in partnership with Reach, offering flexible plans starting at $15/month, including unlimited talk, text, and data for $30/month. Customers can keep their current phone and number or get a new one. This innovation integrates mobile services with existing fiber-optic internet, letting customers access both through one provider. The partnership uses a cloud-native platform to simplify mobile service deployment and management, reducing complexity for providers and users.

Motorola Solutions Expands Unmanned Systems with $4.4bn Silvus Technologies Acquisition

Motorola Solutions acquired Silvus Technologies for $4.4 billion, expanding its capabilities in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET). Silvus provides technology for communication in environments without fixed infrastructure, supporting drones, sensors, and video applications. This acquisition increases Motorola’s presence in the unmanned systems market, including defense, law enforcement, and autonomous systems. The deal is expected to close in the third or fourth quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approval.
