UAE’s e& Launches World’s First U6GHz Giga MIMO Mobile Network

e& UAE has announced the world’s first commercial mobile network using Upper 6GHz (U6GHz) spectrum powered by 256TRX Giga MIMO technology, marking a major advancement in next-generation connectivity. Built in collaboration with global partners, the network uses the 6425–7125 MHz “golden spectrum” band to deliver ultra-high capacity and low-latency performance, supporting 5G-Advanced services with speeds of up to 10Gbps download and 1Gbps upload. It is designed to enable data-intensive applications such as AI-driven systems, smart cities, immersive AR/VR experiences, and industrial automation. The rollout follows successful field trials conducted in 2025 and reinforces the UAE’s position as a global telecom innovation leader and early builder of 6G-ready infrastructure.

Huawei Unveils Wi-Fi 7 Patent Licensing at $0.50 per Device, Strengthening Global SEP Leadership

Huawei has announced a new intellectual property licensing framework for Wi-Fi 7, becoming one of the first major standard-essential patent holders to publicly set royalty terms for next-generation wireless devices. The company confirmed a per-unit licensing rate of $0.50 for consumer-grade Wi-Fi 7 products, aiming to simplify access to its patent portfolio and support broader industry adoption. The move comes through participation in the Sisvel Wi-Fi Multimode patent pool, which covers Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 technologies. Industry observers note this step could streamline negotiations for device makers while reinforcing Huawei’s position in the global Wi-Fi 7 patent ecosystem amid rising competition and growing standard-essential patent licensing activity worldwide.

Bosch Hit With $36 Million US Fine Over Huawei Trade Violations

German engineering giant Bosch has agreed to pay $36 million to US authorities after an investigation found that its subsidiaries shipped over $70 million worth of sensor products and mobile software to Huawei without required export licenses. The shipments, made between 2020 and 2024, involved technologies subject to US export controls because they were linked to US-origin technology rules restricting trade with blacklisted firms like Huawei. Bosch self-reported the violations, calling them unintentional, and cooperated fully with regulators. As a result, US authorities closed a related criminal probe and declined prosecution. Bosch will also forfeit profits from the transactions and has pledged to strengthen its compliance systems to prevent similar export-control breaches in the future.
