El Salvador advances connectivity with first subsea cable
Liberty Networks has been selected by El Salvador’s telecom regulator SIGET to design, build, and operate the country’s first 1,800 kilometer submarine cable. The system will connect El Salvador to major international hubs, significantly expanding bandwidth and network resilience.
The project is expected to deliver reliable high-speed internet access to approximately 6.3 million citizens, supporting economic development, innovation, and access to global digital services.
Nokia secures €870 million to advance 5G-Advanced and 6G research
Nokia has secured an €870 million long-term loan from the European Investment Bank, backed by the EU InvestEU programme, to accelerate research into 5G-Advanced and AI-native 6G technologies. The funding will support multi-year research and development across Nokia facilities in Finland, Poland, France, Germany, and other European countries.
