Telecom Lead Asia: AGC Networks, an Essar group company, is set to buy business of Transcend United Technologies, North America, a provider of IT systems.
AGC did not share the value of the acquisition.
Transcend United Technologies has $43 million revenues from IT systems business that focuses on unified communications, data center infrastructure and managed services.
SK Jha, managing director & CEO at AGC Networks, said, “The acquisition will equip us to leverage Transcend’s expertise and customer base.”
The acquisition is in line with AGC’s 10 growth strategy offering seamless delivery of 10 key solutions, through 10 key alliances across 10 key geographies.
Announcing Q3 result, AGC Networks said the present macro-economic scenario across industries has been challenging in the past quarter. The company is gaining strong foothold in other global markets and will continue to drive momentum with strong traction for integrated solutions.
The acquisition, which will assist AGC to strengthen the presence in the U.S. market, represents an opportunity for AGC and Transcend to combine their strengths in innovation, technology and customer experience.
Together, AGC and the business of Transcend will provide clients with intelligent solutions that address the growing need for unified technology systems in enterprise organizations spanning multiple industries.
The Transcend business will operate under the AGC Networks brand, and will be led by Greg Forrest, president, Americas.
